Why YIN?
A little bit more info on yin …
Firstly, it’s not like anything else that you do. Slow, stillness, and quiet— Where or how does this practice fit into our fast-paced modern world?
Some of this can indeed be achieved through meditation, however, in this fast-paced day and age, the general human being often struggles to find the quiet space needed to be still and reflect. This is why YIN, in this modern world and in these times, is so suited….Want to know more? ….
YIN has a focus on our deeper tissues; ligaments, fascia, tendons and bones, along with all our body's cells and organs. Consequently, what we do to care for our bodies and maintain our deeper tissues truly has a significant impact on our overall functioning and certainly, our nervous system.
Why should you try YIN ?
Yin is for everybody. Which is why when i stumbled across it after over a decade of practicing vinyasa yoga.. i knew instantly that i wanted to teach it… i love that everyone can practice it in some form or another, there are many variations to the shapes that we make… and variations aren’t something we add on top of Yin Yoga.
They’re part of how Yin meets real bodies !
Yin is this gentle, yet profound practice that I consistently turn to for relief and restoration.
For nurturing & really looking after myself.
Just a shape a day in the morning is how I tend to add Yin into my daily life. That way its time manageable. And who doesn’t feel like they are poor on time in this day and age.
Yin ensures the longevity and health of your joints & muscles… you connect with your breath. With your organs... With you bones, your ligaments and your cells, and every part of your body…and of course your soft tissue; fascia.
We tend a talk specifically a lot about fascia in Yin. And Fascia is crucial for long-term mobility and overall physical well-being not matter what your age or body type, or injuries are.
Fascia is a sheath of stringy connective tissue that surrounds every part of your body. It provides support to your muscles, tendons, ligaments, tissues, organs, nerves, joints and bones. When your fascia is healthy, it's moving and stretches with you.
Robert Schleip at the Technical University of Munich in Germany recently estimated that an adult's fascia contains approximately 250 million nerve endings, similar to, or slightly more than the skin. “It is beyond any doubt our richest sensory organ,”

REVIEWS
“I’ve been doing Yin with Di for over a year now and it is the most enjoyable hour of my week. Not only do I give my body a chance to recover with deep stretches but it also gives me the chance to disconnect and slow down my mind.
I am currently 37 weeks pregnant and have managed to maintain my gym and active life style the whole way through my pregnancy and Yin has played a huge part in that! The fact i can still (semi) easily move into sleeping swan and other yoga positions at this point amazes me. Sad that i have to have some time off, but i will be back post birth!! ”
